Task Manager is the shared to-do list for your company. Type what you need to do and press Enter - that is the whole create. Link a task to a deal or an organization and it shows up next to the work it belongs to; leave it unlinked and it is still a perfectly good task. Give it a start date and it stays out of your way until the day it matters. Recurring work reappears on schedule without anyone remembering to file it.

Type the line
The task is the sentence. Say "due friday" or "for Acme" in it and those become the date and the company; say neither and it is simply a task, which most of them are.

Hang it on the work, or on nothing
Point it at a company, a person or a deal and it appears on that record too. Or point it at nothing — "pay the bills" is a real task and does not need a parent to be allowed to exist.

A recurring task schedules the next one when you finish this one, one ahead rather than a year of rows nobody has agreed to yet.

Common questions
Why does my list not show everything assigned to me?
Because a backlog is not a to-do list. Two hundred open tasks is a number that never moves, and a prompt that never changes is one people stop reading. Only two things reach you: a due date that has passed, and work somebody handed you that you have not opened yet. A task you wrote for yourself never announces itself — you already know.
Can I mail a task in?
Yes, three ways: to your own task list, to a named colleague's, or onto an existing task so the reply threads onto it. Forwarded attachments come with it and are scanned before anyone can open them.
Do we have to buy it separately?
No. Task Manager comes with Deals: add it to your workspace once, and everyone who has Deals can use it at no extra charge and no extra seat.

Use it on its own for as long as you like. If you ever add another, it shares the same login, the same bill and the same data underneath.
