Add what you own
Type and brand is the whole create. Model, tag, serial, purchase date and cost are chips you add when you know them.

Assign to a colleague or to a name that is not in your workspace — a contractor, a desk, a room.

Follow it to the end
In use, inventory, repair, pending liquidation, liquidated, lost. Nothing is deleted, so you can still answer what happened to a machine two years later.

Common questions
Do we have to set up types first?
No. Add the type when you first need it, from the same row you are filling in.
Can we assign something to someone without an account?
Yes. An assignee can be free text, so a contractor's laptop is tracked like any other.
We already have four hundred laptops in a spreadsheet.
Paste it in. Before anything is created you are shown exactly what would happen — which rows are new, which are already on the register, which asset types it would add, and any cell it could not read. Nothing changes until you say so.

Use it on its own for as long as you like. If you ever add another, it shares the same login, the same bill and the same data underneath.
